Omer Shteinhart, direttore d'orchestra

Omer Shteinhart è un versatile direttore d'orchestra, pianista e batterista con una vasta conoscenza e passione per una vasta gamma di repertori, dal barocco alla musica classica contemporanea al rock. 

Si è diplomato al prestigioso RNCM Conducting Program con Mark Heron e Clark Rundell. Attualmente studia con Bjarte Engeset e Peter Szilvay presso la UiS, Stavanger. Ha conseguito la laurea presso la Buchmann-Mehta School of Music di Tel-Aviv, dove ha studiato pianoforte con il dottor Mark Shaviner e direzione d'orchestra con Yoav Talmi.

Negli ultimi eventi del 2021/22, Omer è stato invitato a partecipare alla prestigiosa Gstaad Conducting Academy. 

Ha lavorato con la BBC Philharmonic eseguendo brani di Schumann, Bloch e Musgrave e ha tenuto concerti con le band della Marina e della Marina norvegese. 

È stato il direttore musicale della Settle Orchestra durante la stagione 2020/21, 

ha preso parte all'apprezzatissima masterclass London Sinfonietta 2020, ha co-fondato il collettivo UnHeard Hybrid per la nuova musica e ha lavorato con la Chetham's School of Music winds e l'orchestra del Northern-Ballet. 

Ha ricevuto il Premio Mortimer Furber per la direzione d'orchestra per il 2020/21. Omer ha collaborato con la BBC Philharmonic e la Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra lavorando con direttori come Simone Young, Omer Meir-Wellber, Ludovic Morlot, Julian Rachlin, John Wilson, Andris Poga e Alpesh Chauhan, tra gli altri. Omer è attivo anche nel campo della musica contemporanea e ha diretto opere di Boulez, Vivier, Adams e Rolf Gupta. 

Si è esibito con il nuovo ensemble musicale di Manchester, Psappha, e ha assistito l'Ensemble 10/10 della Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra con opere di Adès, Martland, Davies e altri. Omer lavora con molti giovani compositori britannici e ha presentato in anteprima vari brani in Inghilterra, Norvegia e Israele. 

Negli anni precedenti, è apparso con varie orchestre come la Haifa Symphony Orchestra, la Royal Bucharest Camerata e la Danube Symphony Orchestra, e ha lavorato con la Nottingham Philharmonic Orchestra, la Manchester Camerata, la band dei Royal Marines britannici e i Solisti di Tel-Aviv. 

Nelle masterclass, Omer è stato mentore di direttori come Antony Hermus, Gianandrea Noseda, Sir Mark Elder e i professori Nicolás Pasquet, Christian Ehwald e Sigmund Thorp Omer ha ricevuto il premio Helen Rachael Mackaness per il 2019/20 e il Waverley Fund per il 2020 /21. 

Come pianista ha suonato sotto la direzione di direttori come Zubin Mehta e si è esibito come solista e musicista da camera. Nella sua giovinezza Omer è stato un premiato batterista rock.

Omer Shteinhart is a versatile conductor, pianist and drummer with a wideranging knowledge and passion for a diverse range of repertoire, from Baroque to contemporary classical to rock music. In the latest events from 2021/22, Omer was invited to participate in the prestigious Gstaad Conducting Academy. He has worked with the BBC Philharmonic performing pieces by Schumann, Bloch and Musgrave and had concerts with the Norwegian Marine and Navy bands. He was the Music Director of the Settle Orchestra during the 2020\21 season, took part in the highly regarded 2020 London Sinfonietta masterclass, has co-founded the UnHeard Hybrid collective for new music and has worked with Chetham’s School of Music winds and the orchestra of the Northern-Ballet. He was awarded of the The Mortimer Furber Prize for Conducting for 2020/21. 

Omer has assisted at the BBC Philharmonic and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra working with conductors such as Simone Young, Omer Meir-Wellber, Ludovic Morlot, Julian Rachlin, John Wilson, Andris Poga and Alpesh Chauhan, among others. Omer is also active in the contemporary music field and has conducted works by Boulez, Vivier, Adams and Rolf Gupta.

His undergraduate degrees are from The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music Tel-Aviv, where he studied Piano performance with Dr Mark Shaviner and Conducting with Yoav Talmi. 

As an orchestral pianist he has played under the baton of conductors such as Zubin Mehta and performed as a soloist and chamber musician. In his younger years Omer was an award-winning rock drummer.
